1. Who we are
This website is operated by ELECTRA S.R.L. (commercial brand PCB-ELECTRA), with its registered office at Parc Industrial Miroslava, Str. Principală no. 33, Building A+C, Brătuleni, Iași County, 707307, Romania — Trade Registry no. J1991001225228, Tax ID RO 1962470 (the “Controller”, “we”, “us”).
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, write to it_support@electra.ro or call +40 232 214 370. Our data protection officer can be reached at the same address.
2. What data we collect, why, and on what legal basis
| Situation | Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quote request (calculator or client portal) | Name, email, company, phone, circuit name, board configuration and price, free-text notes, the design files you upload (Gerber, ZIP/RAR, PDF…) | Preparing and sending you an offer; engineering review of your files; record of the request | Steps at your request before a contract (b); our legitimate interest in keeping a record so no request is lost (f) |
| Contact form | Name, email, company, subject, message | Answering your enquiry | Your request / legitimate interest (b, f) |
| Proof of acceptance of the terms | Request number, date, version of the texts, language of the page, the declaration of professional purpose and acceptance of the B2B terms (no email address or IP address) | Proving which contractual terms were accepted | Our legitimate interest in being able to prove our rights (f) |
| Client account | Name, email, company, phone, password (stored only in encrypted, irreversible form), verification codes, language, request history and the offer PDFs generated for you | Providing the account, order history and re-ordering; sending the verification code and, if applicable, a welcome voucher | Contract / steps at your request (b) |
| Orders, invoicing and delivery | Name, company, billing and delivery address, tax ID / VAT number, order details, invoices and payment records | Performing the contract, delivering the goods, issuing invoices and meeting accounting and tax obligations | Contract (b); legal obligation (c) |
| Welcome voucher (first account) | A one-way fingerprint of your email address (not the address itself) | Issuing the one-time 5 € welcome code only once per person, even if an account is deleted and created again | Our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (f) |
| Newsletter | Email address, language, sign-up date | Sending manufacturing news and occasional offers | Your consent (a), confirmed by a link we email to you (double opt-in) — withdraw any time |
| Website analytics (only if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner) | Pseudonymous usage data collected through Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics (pages viewed, device, approximate location, quote-request events) | Understanding and improving the site | Your consent (a) |
| Security and operation | IP address, browser, requested URLs and time (server logs); short-lived request counters per IP address | Protecting the site and the company mailbox against abuse, fixing faults | Legitimate interest (f) |
If you write to us on behalf of a company, we also process your data as that company’s representative or contact person, for the same purposes.
We do not use your data for automated decisions with legal effect. The price shown by the calculator is an automatic estimate of a manufacturing price, not a decision about you.
Giving us your name and email in our forms is necessary to answer your request or to create your account; without them we cannot do either. All other fields are optional.
3. Your design files
Files you upload with a quote request are used only to prepare your offer and, if you order, to manufacture your boards. They reach our sales team as email attachments and are stored in our internal archive of customer projects (not on the website); the request record itself keeps only the file names. We keep the files until the end of our collaboration plus 5 years, or delete them earlier if you ask us to (write to it_support@electra.ro). We do not disclose your designs to third parties other than service providers strictly needed for the work, bound by confidentiality. Ownership of your designs stays with you.
4. Who receives your data
- Our sales staff, design engineers and administrative staff.
- The provider that hosts our electra.ro e-mail service (a Romanian company acting as our processor), which delivers and stores the emails described above. The website itself runs on our own server in Romania.
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, only for analytics and only if you accept analytics cookies (transfers covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).
- YouTube (Google), only if you press play on the video on the About page — it is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com only after your click.
- Our accountants, tax advisers and banks, only to process the invoices and payments of orders.
- Couriers and public authorities, only where needed to deliver an order or where the law requires it (for example tax returns and the check of businesses’ VAT numbers in the European Commission’s VIES system).
We do not sell personal data. Fonts and scripts used by the site are served from our own server, so visiting it does not send your IP address to Google Fonts or to a script CDN.
5. How long we keep it
- Quote requests and order history: 5 years from the end of the collaboration, that is, from your last request or order (the 3-year general limitation period plus a 2-year safety margin); the data is then deleted automatically. Invoices and accounting documents are kept for the period required by law (5 or 10 years depending on the document — Accounting Law no. 82/1991, art. 25).
- Design files (Gerber, drill, etc.): until the end of our collaboration plus 5 years, or earlier deletion at your request. If a quote request never becomes an order, its files are deleted within 12 months of the last activity.
- Proof that you accepted the Terms: the date, the version of the texts, the request number and the declaration of professional purpose (B2B) are recorded when you send a request; kept for 5 years, together with the request.
- Welcome-voucher fingerprint: 3 years from the moment the voucher was issued — it is kept even if you delete your account, so the one-time voucher is not issued twice; it is an irreversible cryptographic fingerprint, from which the address cannot be recovered.
- Client account: until you ask us to delete it (you can ask at any time); accounts whose email address was never verified are deleted after 30 days.
- Contact-form emails: up to 1 year after the conversation ends.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe (every message carries a personal unsubscribe link). Sign-ups that are not confirmed through the email we send are deleted after 7 days.
- Analytics: according to the Google Analytics retention setting (at most 14 months).
- Server logs and per-IP request counters: a limited, rolling period (counters: minutes; logs: weeks).
- Backups: the database is copied daily to an access-restricted location; copies are kept for 14 days (daily) and 8 weeks (weekly) and then deleted automatically. Data you ask us to erase therefore disappears from backups when those copies expire.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Keeps you signed in to the client portal | Strictly necessary (no consent needed) | Session |
| pcbe_cookie_consent (browser storage) | Remembers your cookie choice | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
| pcbe_lang (browser storage) | Remembers the language you chose | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
| pcbe_attr (browser storage) | Only after you accept: remembers which campaign or site you came from, so that our sales team can see it in your quote request | Measurement — only after you accept | 90 days (deleted if you decline) |
| pcbe_ann_closed, pcbe_calc_lang, pcbe_after_login (browser storage) | Remember closed notice bars; keep your calculator configuration when you change language; return you to your order after signing in | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it / until you close the tab |
| _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors, measures usage | Analytics — only after you accept | Up to 2 years |
Analytics scripts are not loaded at all until you click “Accept”. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. In line with Law no. 506/2004 and the GDPR, we place non-essential cookies only after your consent; declining is as easy as accepting and has no effect on your use of the site. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where we rely on consent (newsletter, analytics) you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing. Write to it_support@electra.ro, the address of our data protection officer; we answer within one month.
You do not have to ask us for the two most common requests: you can delete your client account yourself at any time in the Client Portal (“Delete account” — it erases your account, requests, offers and newsletter sign-up, and lets you ask us to remove your design files from our internal archive too), and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in every message or with the “unsubscribe” link in the website footer.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data-protection authority, ANSPDCP (B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru 28-30, Sector 1, Bucharest; www.dataprotection.ro), or with the authority of your own country.
Applicable law: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Law no. 190/2018 and Law no. 506/2004 (cookies; see the Cookie Policy).
8. Security
We protect personal data with access control on administration areas, passwords stored only in encrypted form (nobody, including us, can read them), limits on repeated login/verification attempts, rate limiting of forms, and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a personal data breach we notify the supervisory authority and, where the law requires it, you.
9. Children
This website is intended for businesses only (professional customers) and is not directed at children under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
When the way we process data changes, we update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. The Romanian version is the reference; texts in other languages are courtesy translations.
